Unruly Women in 20th Century U.S. - Oral History Collection: Welcome

About the Oral History Project

“Unruly” women have been historically defined as disorderly and radical, and include women such as Susan B. Anthony, Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks, Oprah Winfrey, Condoleezza Rice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Madonna, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga.  For this digital project, each student chose one remarkable woman from their personal life such as campus professors, mentors, or family members, or someone from their professional life to interview for an oral history.  They completed an introductory interview, researched and wrote a biographical / historical note to help add context to their subject, recorded the oral history, transcribed the audio file to include names and timestamps, and provided one or more photos of their narrator to include with the finished interview.
