Unruly Women in 20th Century U.S. - Oral History Collection: Student Researchers

Student Researchers

HIST 324 "Unruly Women in the 20th Century U.S."  was designed as a Service Learning course requiring the students to work 'hands-on" with history materials, designing and completing oral history interviews with a person they have identified as a "remarkable woman".  Over the past year, Professor Tammy Pike has been changing how she teaches history to include opportunities for the students to directly interact with and research history. This course is the third in a series, in which the students created extensive digital exhibits based on transcribed letters from a collection housed at a local historical society.  The other two courses in the series are Women in WWII and Women in the US Since 1865.
