Sara K. Newell was born November 23 1977 in New London Connecticut. She grew up intending to be a teacher almost from the beginning. She took a lot of inspiration from Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Grigori Perelman to make sure that everyone gets a fair chance, and everyone is equal. She has been a teacher for 26 years, even winning Teacher of the Year in 2008. She has been a very important leader at her school, organizing many trips and other events for both students and teachers.
One of her more impressive professional activities is the Gifted Ed certification class she co-teaches at Furman University. Another thing that she feels strongly about is making sure that people put aside bias and negativity after watching the Rodney King riots growing up. This put a very big emphasis on the importance of equality and morality in her life.
