The “I love my library because…” library funding campaign sought to show South Carolina congress representatives the impactful and invaluable work that South Carolina Libraries do every day in their own districts.
For this campaign, library advocates wrote why they loved their library. Some advocates wrote long passages, while others just gave one sentence. We also received a lot of artwork. Every district had at least a couple of postcards returned, and many districts had several hundred returned. Local constituents and library advocates hand-delivered each card during the 2019 South Carolina Library Legislative Day.
