USC Upstate Library hosts 9/11 “Anniversary in the Schools” Webinar
In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States, the USC Upstate Library is hosting viewings of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum webinar, “Anniversary in the Schools.” The program features a series of first-person stories from first responders, family members, and survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
This 40-minute program will be shown in the Library on Friday, September 10, at 9:30 am, 12 noon, and 1:30 pm. Each viewing is accompanied by a live chat session with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum education staff, allowing attendees to ask questions in real-time. The webinar is fully accessible, including versions supplemented with American Sign Language or closed captions. An audio description version and one with Spanish subtitles is also available.
The webinar is free and open to all Upstate faculty, staff, and students, as well as community members. Viewings will be held in Rooms 247 and 249 (the Library’s 2nd floor computer labs). Seating is limited to 15 attendees per room. Face coverings are required and social distancing is strongly recommended.
The Library is also hosting an exhibition of posters from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to commemorate the 20th anniversary. These posters may be viewed on the patio near the library entrance. The exhibition will be available through Sunday, September 12. As the patio is outdoors, face coverings are not required but are encouraged, as is social distancing.
The webinar and the exhibition are productions of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City. These and other events and activities are sponsored at USC Upstate by the Office of Academic Affairs.
