Purpose of Tutorial

Through this tutorial, you will become more familiar with the issues surrounding plagiarism and will receive instruction on how to address this academic issue.

By completing this tutorial, you will learn:

  • to define plagiarism
  • to begin to identify situations where plagiarism could occur
  • to understand why citing referenced or quoted works is a standard in academic research 
  • to identify and contact appropriate channels for help when needed

Academic integrity is a complex issue. By being aware and using the support network available to you, you will be able to navigate the complexities of plagiarism more effectively.

By following the guidelines in this tutorial, you can feel confident that you are using information responsibly and doing your part to uphold Upstate's Code of Conduct.

 

This tutorial should take you approximately 25 minutes. It includes self-check questions along the way and an 8 question quiz at the end. To move the tutorial along, use the side panel or the next/prev arrows at the bottom.
