You may find links to resources for a specific topic. There is also a directory of organizations/agencies.

Following is a list of national organizations/agencies maintained on MedlinePlus and organized by health topic. Keep in mind that often there are local and regional offices that serve communities. Search the organization/agency webpage for possible resources and services of interest.

USA.gov

USA.gov is an online portal to federal government information. It also includes some state, county, and city resources. Topic covered include health, law/legal, benefits, grants, and loans. You may find directories of resources.

SEARCH HINTS:

  • Halfway down the page there is a list of U.S. government services and information, organized by topic. Note that there are multiple categories, including Health.

Directories are updated periodically. Information about agencies and organizations can change. Double-check the agency/organization webpage to verify information.

South Carolina Directories

You may find other resources and services by using Google. However, remember to verify that information is still current.

Any information you find --  not just .com websites -- should be evaluated before you use it. Verify the authors. Is it a credible organization?  Also, what is the purpose/intent -- are they trying to sell/advertise [make a profit] or genuinely inform?
