Tips

When searching in any of the databases search Rac* OR Ethni* (using the * is called truncation a technique that broadens your search to include various word endings and spellings) by searching using this combination of words you will search not just race but racial, racialized, and other related words along with Ethnic, ethnicity, ethnicities, and other related words.  IF you use Race AND Ethnicity you will only find articles that use both of these words.

IF you know the journal you want to search (see communication journals page) you can either link into that journal from the guide page or add the title to the search screen within the appropriate database.  (ask a librarian to help you determine where a journal is indexed)

Noted on the first-page subject terms may vary over the years and may seem antiquated make sure to note them and use appropriate terminology within your search.
