Unruly Women in 20th Century United States
For this digital project, each student chose one remarkable woman from their personal life such as campus professors, mentors, or family members, or someone from their professional life to interview for an oral history. This project was completed in the spring of 2024.

The Dan Trail System - Infographics
The students at The STUDIO at USC Upstate designed some amazing infographics all about The Dan Trail System. These infographics list the terrain, features, length and so many other fun facts about our trail systems.
Southern Piedmont Natural History
Dr. Jonathan Storm's community engagement work. He has a Facebook page, Southern Piedmont Natural History, where he shares daily information on plants, fungi and wildlife in our area. This site receives approximately 6 million views per year and is one of the most active educational nature pages, per capita, on social media which can increase the prestige and perception of USC Upstate to the general public. Jon is also involved in educational outreach by providing nature seminars and natural history information via social media. Examples of community groups for the natural history talks include Spartanburg Area Conservancy (SPACE), Spartanburg Science Center, Spartanburg Historical Association, North Carolina Wildlife Federation Children and Habitat and Wildlife Keepers Branch of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation.
Making a baby in South Carolina
The first season explores the stories of six pregnant women in Upstate, South Carolina. Monika Shehi Herr, associate professor of English at University of South Carolina Upstate, looks closely at how we talk, or don't talk, about pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period--and how that discourse affects the quality of healthcare women in South Carolina receive as they make their babies.
VAX UPstate
With the help of 2 students, Dr. Ginny Webb created a digital story in the form of videos explaining the reasons behind various individuals' decisions to get vaccinated against COVID-19. These videos were from both English and Spanish speakers and are intended to reach a diverse audience.
Brad Lephew WWII Collection
Through a unique collaboration between Mr. Lephew, the University of South Carolina Upstate Archives and Special Collections, and Dr. Alexander Lorenz, Assistant Professor of German, collection materials were translated by USC Upstate German Studies students and edited by Dr. Lorenz beginning in the fall of 2019. Additional items are currently being translated and edited, and will be added to the collection as they become available.
