For this digital project, each student chose one remarkable woman from their personal life such as campus professors, mentors, or family members, or someone from their professional life to interview for an oral history. This project was completed in the spring of 2024.

Making a baby in South Carolina
The first season explores the stories of six pregnant women in Upstate, South Carolina. Monika Shehi Herr, associate professor of English at University of South Carolina Upstate, looks closely at how we talk, or don't talk, about pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period--and how that discourse affects the quality of healthcare women in South Carolina receive as they make their babies.
