Searching for OER

Here are some good places to start looking for OER. These all have materials related to Nursing. While many of the resources are included on this guide, new materials are appearing all the time.

Open Textbook Library
Product of the Open Textbook Network based at the University of Minnesota, the Open Textbook Library is a curated site that draws from many different OER publishers. It is one of the more comprehensive sites and is noted for faculty reviews of many titles.
LibreTexts
Non-profit bsed within the University of California system, LibreTexts publishes its own open textbooks as well as distributes open textbooks from other publishers. Also includes open courses and some ancillary materials. Wide variety of subjects and disciplines represented.
BCcampus
Supported in part by the British Columbia provincial government, BCcampus publishes open textbooks created through its member institutions as well as distributes and adapts open textbooks from other sources, such as OpenStax.
Galileo Open Learning Materials
Open Textbooks and ancillary materials from the University System of Georgia. Part of the Affordable Learning Georgia initiative.
OER Commons
Developed by the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education, OER Commons is both a repository for collections of OER as well as a collaborative platform allowing faculty to create and adapt OER.
MERLOT
A project of the California State University system, MERLOT is a venerable repository of online educational content of many kinds. Not everything is published under a CC license, and there are some low-cost rather than free items, so check licensing carefully.
