Instructions

1. Find an article in the CINAHL Ultimate Database

  • Step 1 - Add your search terms

    • Search Box 1 - Syndrome name
    • Search Box 2 - Keywords to help limit your search

  • Step 2 - Limit your results to full text, English language, and peer-reviewed

2. Pick an article to read and scan to locate answers to specific questions

  • Tip - Use Control+F or Command+F for faster searching (look for specific question keywords within an article)

3. Once you answer a question, screen capture the first page of the article and any pages containing an answer & highlight where the answers shows up.

  • To screenshot on an HP: Press the Windows key, "shift," and "s" key at the same time. Click and drag your mouse until you have selected the area you would like to screen capture. Release and then the image should be automatically copied. I suggest pasting all screenshots into a Word Document as you go.

  • To screenshot on a MAC: Press the "command," "shift," and "4" key at the same time. Click and drag your mouse until you have selected the area you would like to screen capture. Release and then the image should show up on your desktop.

4. Find 3 words in the article that are unfamiliar to you and define them on the report sheet. Two websites to use to help you with this are:

5. Share your search history at the bottom of the report sheet

  • Find your search history under "Recent Activity" on the left hand side of the page
  • Screenshot and print your "Search History" to add to your report sheet

6. Turn lab report to your lab instructor by the due date (ask your professor if you're not sure when).

7. Fill out the feedback survey for Librarian Erika Montgomery :)

Use the instruction session period to finish your lab report.

Please ask Erika for tips to find answers or email montgoer@uscupstate.edu to make an appointment/ask for further help.
