Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

This service is available to USC Upstate faculty members, staff and currently-enrolled students at no cost. When materials arrive you will be notified by e-mail. Requested materials can be picked up at the USC Upstate Library circulation desk, at the UCG Library for students attending there or mailed to your home if you attend neither campus and live outside of Spartanburg County. You must contact the ILL office at libill@uscupstate.edu to establish eligibility for home mailing of ILL material (also see distance learners). 

  • A valid Carolina Card / Upstate ID is required to access all items on reserve at the USC Upstate Library Circulation Desk

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

ILL Express! is the Interlibrary Loan ordering system for the USC Upstate Library. USC Upstate faculty members, currently-enrolled students, and staff are eligible to use Interlibrary Loan. We are located in the Circulation Department of the USC Upstate Library.

With ILL Express! you may place Interlibrary Loan requests, check the status of your requests, renew materials, and communicate with the Interlibrary Loan Department - all through your web browser.

First you must Create an ILL Account in the ILL Express! system.

Once an account has been created, you can proceed directly to the Log In to ILL Account page for access to all ILL services.

If you have forgotten (or need to change) your ILL password, go to Reset ILL Password for help.

To Reset Password:

  • If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by visiting the Forgot Password page.

To Change Password:

  • Log in to ILL Account using your current username and password ("ill" if your password has been reset by an Interlibrary Loan Staff member).
  • On the menu on the left, scroll down to the Tools area. Click on the Change Password link.
  • Enter your current password ("ill" if your password has been reset by an Interlibrary Loan Staff member) and your new password.
  • Click on the Submit Informationbutton.
  • The Main Menu will reappear displaying a message confirming that your password has been successfully changed.
  • When you are finished using ILL Express!, exit by clicking theLogoff option at the top of the menu on the left side of the screen.
  • If you are using a public access workstation, you should clear your Web browser's history file and exit from the browser.

 

Remember:  Passwords are Case Sensitive.

If you are off campus, you must log in to your library account before you will be able to log in to ILL Express! Your library account login is the same as your USC Upstate network login, the username and password that you use to log in to computers on campus.

Forgot Your Username?

  • If you forget your username, call or email the ILL office.  Using your name, we can look you up in the system and tell you your username.

If You Have Problems Logging In To Your Account:

  • Do not create a new account!
  • Duplicate accounts will be canceled and requests submitted under a duplicate account will be deleted by the ILL system.

Still Can't Log In?

  • Call or email the ILL office.  We'll need to log in to your account to see what the problem is.
