Collection Development

Collection development is the process of developing and maintaining our library collections to meet the information needs of our students, staff, and faculty.  This includes materials in all formats for all subjects and disciplines.

Library Liaisons

All library faculty participate in collection development in certain subjects and/or disciplines by serving as liaisons to Academic program departments and schools.  They communicate with their discipline faculty to determine materials required to enhance those subject areas within the library’s collections.  They also help formulate policy and cooperate in the selection, de-selection, and evaluation of materials for their respective areas. Subject areas as assigned using the Library of Congress classification system.
