Conference Information

The first Transforming Librarians Conference will be held at the University of South Carolina Upstate Library on May 5, 2016. This conference will focus on how library services and librarians are being transformed through technology. Librarians and library science students of all types are invited to attend.

The conference will begin at 8am and end at 4pm on Thursday, May 5, 2016. You are encouraged to bring a laptop or other device to use at the conference. Programs will be held in the library computer labs and you will be able to use those computers, but the keynote will be held in an auditorium where there are no computers.

Conference Registration

Conference registration has been closed since we reached capacity. The cost is $25 for the day to cover a continental breakfast, boxed lunch, and coffee/tea in the morning. Conference Highlights

  • There will be 9 conference programs.
  • 10 lightning round sessions that highlight a variety of technology tools and ways of using technology in innovative ways in libraries.
  • A keynote presentation by Glenn Bunton, Director of Library Technology Services at USC Libraries- Columbia.
  • There will also be a drop in play lab for testing a plethora of technology tools useful to librarians, reviewed on the findyourhat.com website.
